I believe that the reason why the Parisian women are so pretty and thin is because of all the steps you need to climb when you use the subway. A few stations have escalators, but many more don't...
On top of that you always have to walk fast in order to catch a train... which is silly considering there is one arriving 3 minutes later.
on another note: yesterday the sale season started. In France, stores can't offer sale whenever they want. the sale season is set by law and on the first day it is craziness in the shops.
