French Lessons: investigating the case of the vanishing August and the fadding assitant pool

August = Août
Anyway,it doesn't really matter how you say August in French since it doesn't exist.
For my work, I need to take appointments for my bosses and I can do it either now, a little bit in July or in September because many large companies are just closed in August and everyone is in vacation.
July has a tendency to be disappearing too.

Wednesday = mercredi
An other case of vanishing is on Wednesdays... that day is the kids day in France. There is no school, so most of the female assistant are not working. I tried one Wednesday to setup some appointments and half the time I got voice mail.

Considering the August thing, I guess it really depends where you live.
In Paris, yeah August doesn't really exist... (actually it's my favorite time of the year in Paris: Paris with no Parisians!!!! Great!!!)
But in other parts of France, people tend to go on summer vacation either in July or August and for example in the South West, things are slower (and calmer) during both months, but nothing is closed or anything, as half the people leave in July and the other half in August...
