Day trip to the south

Today for work, I travelled to Toulouse. It's a 55 minutes flight from Paris. Basically it took me as long to get there as it would going to campus.

I did not see anything of the pink city as is it nicknamed since I was part of a group going to visit Airbus. The school has many alumni working there.

It was quite an experience. For one thing I had never done a round trip by plane in a day before. We were amazingly well treated by the company. Nothing outrageous, but perfect.

I learned a few things about the research Airbus is conducting. Not being sure how public it all is I will only talk about it around dinner or drinks :-)

At the end of the visit we had a tour of the A380 assembly line. It was impressive. But because of the building being so huge it was hard to grasp the size of the plane. At one point we were close to a wing ... And yes it was looooong, it also felt like plastic and hollow.

Oh, it was only a daytrip?
I thought you'd stay here a few days..

Did you see my cousin? ;-)

I got to see the A380 at the Salon du Bourget last year, and it is huge indeed...
