French lessons 1

things I need to remember:

- do not press the '1' in the elevator to go to the first floor. The first floor in France is called 'rez de chausée'and it considered as 0.

- do not forget to ask for wrapping paper in the stores. I had to buy a birthday gift and I didn't even think that I should have ask for FREE paper. You do not find rolls of wrapping paper everywhere here, however the selection offered by the stores is usually quite nice.

- People drive like maniacs... including cars, moped, bikes, bicycle. And pedestrians too!

Welcome back to France!!!

The elevator thing... Damn!!! Do you know that I still mess that up once in a while...

Concerning the wrapping paper, I have no idea what you're talking about... Do you mean that in the US, there are stores that have wrapping papers reels? Which stores? I don't remember ever seeing that... (ok, I must admit that I'm not sure I've ever wrapped a gift either outside of Christmas season)

And no French people don't drive like maniacs, it's the Americans that drive like 90 year old ladies...

in the US, you often have to pay (even if it's boyscouts) to get something wrapped. B&N has some paper sometimes, but it is ugly.

B&N?

(btw sorry for today, I meant to call you for lunch, but I slept 5 hours last night so I'm home to take a nap)
