To Versailles!

There currently is a special exhibit in Versailles called "faste de cour" or Pompous Court at the Versailles Palace. You can see actual court dresses and costumes from the 18th century.
It is interesting to note that already in the 18th century, Paris was the center of the fashion industry and every court in Europe was wearing what was in fashion in France.

and it seems that Civilization IV is quite realistic in its description of the place... the translation in English is "it's really like in Civ Four"...
